The skin needs both fat and moisture. Dry skin is lacking either one or both of them. The structure of dry skin is often thinner than in normal skin, so it has to be protected well when going out. Wrong product choices and treatment can cause dryness and make it worse. When treating dry skin, it is important to provide skin with the right ratio of fatty acids and water. Natural cosmetics provide excellent care for dry skin, since it does not contain unnecessary fillers, but instead is rich in nutrient-rich plant oils and extracts. Inner moisturisation is the key in treating dry skin, which is why your diet should include plenty of good fatty acids, such as avocados, nuts and high quality, cold-pressed vegetable oils. Do not forget the importance of drinking water.
For cleansing dry skin, cleansing milks and lotions are the best choices. You can use them without tap water that dries skin, when using a damp facial cloth. Hydrating, alcohol free facial toner gives skin needed moisture. Use toner morning and night. In the morning, avoid washing your face if it is not actually dirty. Instead, give yourself a fresh start to the day by wiping your face with a cotton cloth soaked with facial toner. To treat dry skin, we recommend using at least one moisturiser, water serum and facial oil. In the morning after toning, apply hydrating water serum to face and follow with a moisturising facial cream according to dryness of your skin. In the evening after toning, apply first serum, follow with a few drops of facial oil, and finish with a restoring night cream. For eye contour area, choose a creamy, nourishing product and use it morning and night.
It is recommended to exfoliate skin every 1.5 weeks with an exfoliator with small granules, to remove dead skin cells and prime skin for other skin care products. A moisturising, creamy mask should be used at least after exfoliating. Most of the moisturising masks can be left on overnight. As an intensive treatment for extra dry skin, try using a moisturising mask instead of night cream multiple times a week.
